The Obligatory How We Met Stuff

Brie moved from Oakland, California to Austin, Texas in the fall of 2010 to get away from the cold and to buy her first couch. Chris was working on ill fated TV Shows at night and not sleeping enough so it’s no surprise he couldn’t find the girl of his dreams. When they met online he was only trying to be helpful.  When they spent way too much time together watching bad movies, over sharing and laughing, he knew he should do something before he missed his chance.

That was a little over 3 years ago. Brie’s brother and his wife have just had their second child, Chris’ brother and sister have both had their second and fourth child (respectively), Chris lost his mother to cancer and Chris and Brie adopted a crazy dog that they love very much. Brie’s mother is even doing a 4 month stint to see if Austin is a place she could call home.  So a lot has happened. Their love has grown deeper and they’ve decided to make it official in front of friends and family. Please join them in the celebration.

A Little About the Bride and Groom

My name is Brie. I was born on April 1 and one day I will die. I currently live in Austin, Texas in a nice little condo with a very loving man and a very stubborn dog. I love mysteries and bears. I was voted most unique in high school. My favorite fruit is candy and my favorite candy are gummi bears.

My name is Chris. I was born on October 24th and one day I will die. I currently live in Austin, Texas in a nice little condo with a very loving lady and a very stubborn dog. I have forgotten more about denim than most people know. I hate being late. I have never been to Europe but I did live in Canada for a little while. My motto is: if you can’t be a good example, be a cautionary tale.

Ceremony

This whole thing is going down at The Rockin’ Y Ranch in Austin, Texas on April 12, 2014. There’s a big house, a barn and a pool. It’s going to be a blast.

The address is 7600 Stillridge Drive.

Ceremony starts at 5pm.

Attire

Here’s the deal. It’s an outdoor wedding, in Texas. Brie has some people that will be really disappointed if you don’t wear sunscreen.  The venue is definitely closed toes and flats. Does that count as semi-formal?  Brie’s a big fan of dresses with pockets so you can look good and still be comfortable.

Chris thinks penguins look uppity, does a nice pair of jeans (Chris’ rules) and a blazer count as semi-formal? This is literally Chris’ panic attack about every event he’s ever been to. Make him proud…unless he’s let you down…then, you know, return the favor.

Oh god, this is really hard.

We’ve always had a lot of luck using other services as well, such as Airbnb and VRBO.

Not Your Traditional Registry

When people were expected to live at home until they got married it made sense to buy them blenders, mixers, sheets, etc.  Brie and Chris have been living on their own for a while though and have all the basics for a home.  Plus they’re SUPER picky and really annoying to buy gifts for.

To make things more difficult they weren’t selected for Sweethearts’ Week on Wheel of Fortune, which they would have KILLED by the way. All dreams of cash and prize puzzles dashed, they decided to register with Honeyfund which lets you chip in for their honeymoon.  Honestly they really need to get away.  If you are so inclined. No pressure or anything. Seriously.

What we really need

  •     A trip out of town.
  •     To sit on a beach for a week.
  •     A private soaker pool.
  •     No distractions from the outside world.
  •     Did we mention somewhere tropical?
  •     Room service.

There Will Be Barbecue

There’s going to be a whole pig.  It’s kind of crazy.  Brisket, beans, that sort of thing.  Brie said no to ribs, something about being worried about her dress.  LAME.

Anyway, there will be a vegetarian gumbo if you’re so inclined.

Will There Be Dancing?

Yes.

Thank you

Seriously. Thank you.

You probably hear that a lot, you’re very special people, but we truly mean it. We feel like everyone invited helped to make us the people we are. If it wasn’t for you guys, we wouldn’t be here. You saved us from ourselves, you kept us honest and you loved what we, as individuals, brought to the table. We can’t thank you enough for that. What we can do is promise to share with you everything this team has to offer. It’s going to be great and we couldn’t do it without each and every one of you.
